3RD ANNUAL HOLIDAY WINE TASTING
Marianna Rotary Club annual event benefits Jackson Hospital Foundation
Marianna, FL, November 27, 2007. Wine has held a special place in our customs, diets and social gatherings. It even plays a role in some religious activities, as religions around the world use it in certain sacred ceremonies.
The forthcoming Holiday Season brings the perfect opportunity to learn more about wines and their history when you participate in the Marianna Rotary Club’s Annual Holiday Wine Tasting. Back for the third year, this year’s event will be held Friday, December 7, 2007, from 7:00-10:00pm at the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce Russ House, 4318 Lafayette Street, in Marianna.
This event brings a time for fellowship with friends and an occasion to get into the spirit of the holiday season while at the same time benefiting the Jackson Hospital Foundation through your tax-deductible contribution. This year’s fundraiser is for the Foundation’s acquisition of medical equipment for Jackson Hospital.
Hors D’oeuvres prepared by the Jackson Hospital Dietary Staff will accompany the varietals of three red and three white selections, including one sparkling wine. Participants will receive a keepsake glass for use in the wine tasting.
Local Rotarians will serve as wine stewards at each of the serving stations. As they introduce participants to a particular varietal, they will also tell about its viniculture. For the oenophile and those budding wine aficionados who want to learn more about wine tasting, this event promises a pleasing palate of tastes and an interesting history lesson on the presented wines.
The Annual Holiday Wine Tasting follows the Marianna Christmas Parade and the attire worn to the parade will be equally appropriate for the Wine Tasting. Remember to wear your holiday sweaters to make both the parade and this event even more festive!
