4th ANNUAL WINE TASTING
Marianna Rotary Club annual event benefits Jackson Hospital Foundation
Marianna, FL, February 3, 2009. Wine has held a special place in our customs, diets and social gatherings. It even plays a role in some religious activities, as religions around the world use it in certain sacred ceremonies.
Friday, February 20th is the perfect opportunity to learn more about wines and their history when you participate in the Marianna Rotary Club’s Annual Wine Tasting. Back for its fourth year, the event is from 7:00-10:00pm at the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce’s historic Russ House, 4318 Lafayette Street, Marianna.
The Wine Tasting is a time for fellowship with friends, an opportunity to sample new wines while supporting an excellent cause - Jackson Hospital Foundation. The Jackson Hospital Foundation operates exclusively to advance the hospital and its healthcare services to the greater Jackson County community.
Local Rotarians will serve as wine stewards at each of the sampling stations. As they introduce participants to a particular varietal, they will also tell about its viniculture. For the oenophile and those budding wine aficionados who want to learn more about wine, this event promises a pleasing palate of tastes and an interesting history lesson on the presented wines.
Tickets for the Fourth Annual Holiday Wine Tasting are $75.00 per couple or $37.50 per person. Make your plans to attend by calling the Jackson Hospital Foundation at 718-2601. You must be 21 years of age or older to purchase tickets.
