NELL BLAND IS JACKSON HOSPITAL’S STAR EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR
Bland is 30-year employee in Patient Financial Services
February 11, 2008, Marianna, FL. Jackson Hospital announces Nell Bland as 2007 STAR Performer of the Year. Nell holds the honor as the hospital’s first recipient of this distinguished employee award. The Star Performer award is the highest employee award at Jackson Hospital. Award recipients are selected from a pool of other candidates, all nominated by colleagues for their extraordinary service to patients.
Part of Nell’s nomination for Quarterly Employee, which in turn made her eligible for the STAR Employee of the Year award, was due to a specific situation in which she was able to tailor her assistance to accommodate the needs of a deceased patient’s wife who was handling his affairs. Situations such as this one are common of Nell Bland’s above-and-beyond commitment to her position as Lead Customer Account Representative on the Patient Financial Services team.
Nell has had an exciting year with November 28, 2007 marking her 30th employment anniversary with Jackson Hospital. She grew up in Grand Ridge and moved to Marianna when she married. Off-hours, when Ms. Bland isn’t at work, she reads history and romance novels.
Shane Gilmore, Director of Patient Financial Services, says of Ms. Bland, “You could not have selected a better person; she is a prime and perfect example of the model employee and co-worker.”
