JACKSON HOSPITAL FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES
17th ANNUAL LIGHTS OF LOVE
Lights to Remember and Stars to shine on Loved Ones at Christmas Time
Marianna, FL, November 20, 2007. The 17th Annual Lights of Love brings luminary lights and shiny stars for the community to remember and honor loved ones at Christmas Time. The front-lawn event, held at Jackson Hospital, is an annual Jackson Hospital Foundation event. This year, the 17th annual Lights of Love will be held Thursday, December 6th, at 5:00pm. Last year’s event had over 100 community members in attendance. Foundation President, Debbie Mathews, RN, CNOR, says, “Each year Jackson Hospital Foundation has the privilege to sponsor our Lights of Love celebration at the start of Christmas season when we take time to commemorate special people in our lives.”
Beginning at 4:30pm, the Golson Elementary School 2nd Grade Chorus will herald arriving participants with songs of the season. Wear your holiday sweaters, bring your family, and share in the remembrance.
The program includes the recitation of persons memorialized by lights and stars gifted from friends and family. Debbie Matthews, RN, CNOR, President of the Jackson Hospital Foundation, Jill Miller, Executive Director of the Jackson Hospital Foundation, Mr. Gene Strickland, Chairman, Jackson Hospital Board of Trustees, and Jackson Hospital CEO Mr. Dave Hample will bring thoughts of the season kicked off by an Invocation from Senior Pastor LaVon Pettis of Evangel Workship Center.
Lights of Love is a key fundraiser for the Jackson Hospital Foundation with all proceeds going to purchase a Flexible Cystoscope, a medical device used to explore the interior of the human bladder. This instrument will enable physicians to visualize the patient’s bladder for any abnormal conditions.
Seasonal cookies and jolly good punch will be served for refreshments. Candy canes will be on-hand for the children and those young-at-heart.
The word from the North Pole is Santa, arriving via Fire Truck, is the Lights of Love’s special guest. The Jackson Foundation Auxiliary, the “Pink Ladies,” will be displaying their role as Santa’s helpers.
