Hematology, Medical Oncology Full Services Now Available in Jackson and Surrounding Counties
Dr. David Flick, Medical Oncologist/Hematologist, joins Jackson Hospital Medical Staff
Marianna, FL, April 5, 2010. Jackson Hospital is pleased to welcome David A. Flick, M.D., Ph.D., to the active medical staff of Jackson Hospital. He represents one of over 30 Physicians with full admitting privileges. The service he provides to our region eliminates the need for patients who are seriously ill to travel out of our area for treatment of cancer and blood disorders.
Dr. Flick will practice at Panhandle Medical Group, 4306 B Third Street, Marianna (Dr. Gordon’s former office). He will see patients who need care for cancer, blood disorders, and adult health issues (internal medicine). His office number is (850) 718-2886.
The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce will have a ribbon cutting to welcome Dr. Flick, Thursday, April 8th, 10am, at the Panhandle Medical Group office, Marianna. The public is invited.
Dr. Flick is Board Certified in Medical Oncology and is a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine. His medical training includes a prestigious fellowship in medical oncology and hematology at the Department of Medicine of the University of Washington Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle and residency in internal medicine at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore.
Dr. Flick received his Ph.D. in microbiology and graduated cum laude from the University of Florida Medical School in Gainesville. His academic preparation also includes a Master of Science in microbiology and a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry.
He has an extensive background in interventional medicine, hematology, and medical oncology and has published numerous articles in his field. He has been in private practice since 1992.
The Medical Oncology treatment for cancer that Dr. Flick provides complements Dr. Steven Stokes provision of Radiation Oncology who practices at North Florida Cancer Care, Marianna.
Dr. Flick is the newest of five more physicians we welcome to our region and the Medical Staff of Jackson Hospital.
