ART IN PUBLIC PLACES AT JACKSON HOSPITAL
An Artists Guild of Northwest Florida program comes to Jackson Hospital
Marianna, FL, May 6, 2008. Jackson Hospital is pleased to announce its participation in the “Art in Public Places” initiative of the Artists Guild of Northwest Florida.
As part of the activities commemorating Hospital Week, May 11-16th, on Thursday, May 15th at 11am, Jackson Hospital will officially open its Art in Public Places Gallery on the ground floor of the hospital located at 4250 Hospital Drive, Marianna. The program will be launched as an Art Gallery-style presentation of local artists’ work. The public is invited for the Ribbon Cutting and to stay to experience the beautifully created artwork crafted by the Guild. Hospital Tours will also be available beginning at 1pm.
Nancy Zurenda, spokesperson for the Artists Guild, says, “We are very excited to be partnering with Jackson Hospital in our ‘Art in Public Places’ program. This is really a great location to display our art and showcase our local talent.”
Hospital Week unites hospitals, health care workers, and communities coast-to-coast, cultivating enthusiasm and pride in care giving. According to the American Hospital Association’s Hospital Statistics, “nearly 6,000 hospitals and over five million dedicated staff members serve as beacons of hope in their communities.”
Jackson Hospital shares in the Hospital Week enthusiasm with scheduled employee and community events. The Artists Guild of Northwest Florida is a not-for-profit organization “comprised of friends and neighbors in Northwest Florida who have an interest in developing additional cultural arts opportunities for people of all disciplines, interests and talents,” according to the Guild’s pamphlet.
Jackson Hospital, a top 100 Hospital in the nation according to Thomson Healthcare, is the only Florida hospital in its size category to receive the 2006 Performance Improvement Leaders award.
