Jackson Hospital Announces January 10th as
Grand Opening of its ER Addition
December 30, 2011, Marianna, FL. Jackson Hospital announces January 10, 2012, as the date for the Grand Opening and ribbon cutting of its new ER addition which ultimately expands the space from nine beds to 17. The public is invited to the event which begins at 4pm CST with the official Jackson County Chamber of Commerce Ribbon cutting at 4:30pm CST. Tours of the new ER will be provided and light refreshments served.
The ER expansion is part of the renovation and construction project currently underway at the Hospital. The project which broke ground Spring 2011 also realigns the first floor to optimize patient flow and centralize patient registration, and includes a more spacious and attractive main lobby seating area. Patients and visitors are currently enjoying several completed project phases such as a new “Outpatient Center” in the Hudnall Medical Building housing outpatient laboratory, radiology, and infusion therapy services; a repositioned MRI on hospital campus; and a redesigned Medical Records Department on the 1st Floor of the Hospital.
“Jackson Hospital is growing to better meet the needs of our community,” explained Larry Meese, Chief Executive Officer. “With our expanding key services and 32 board certified physicians on staff, we needed to better use the space we have in order to accommodate the increased number of patients coming to Jackson Hospital.”
Jackson Hospital’s Emergency Department responds to critical cases with a Physician-led team of caregivers that provides immediate attention to the patient. Mr. Meese says, “By expanding the ER, we will more than double its capacity which currently sees over 20,000 individuals each year.”
Jackson Hospital’s mission is to provide exceptional healthcare to every patient, every day. The hospital is growing with its $7.5 million renovation and ER Expansion construction project, the development of its Outpatient Center, partnership with Chipola Fitness Center, and by bringing new physicians to the community, the latest of whom is Dr. Stacy Nichols-Byll arriving February 2012.
