Jackson Hospital announces Congestive Heart Failure Support Group
Monthly meeting to provide information and support
Marianna, FL, June 6, 2011. Case Management Director Lori Franklin, RN, announces a new health support group for those living with Heart Failure. The group is called the “Jackson Hospital Heart Failure Support Group” and will hold its first meeting 3:00pm Tuesday, June 14th, in the Hudnall Medical Building Community Room, Jackson Hospital, 4230 Hospital Drive, Marianna.
Lori says, “The idea came about to provide ongoing support and information to this special group of patients.” She adds, “Caregivers across the spectrum of care, from Hospital to home-based, joined together to create this needed support group for our community.”
The group will meet at 3:00pm on the second Tuesday of each month. Exciting topics and programs are scheduled for the next 12 meetings.
Ms. Franklin invites all Heart Failure patients and their caregivers to join the group. There is no cost to attend. Please register by calling 850-718-2519 for heart healthy refreshment planning purposes.
Jackson Hospital has added many new services, such as infusion therapy, reverse shoulder surgery, medical stabilization, and diagnostic ultrasound services including guided needle ultrasound, to name a few. The hospital has added 9 new physicians to its active medical staff in the last two years: specialists in Cardiology, Hematology/Medical Oncology, OB/GYN, Orthopedics/Sports Medicine, General Surgery, Urology, and Primary Care. The Hospital has OB/GYN outreach clinics in Bonifay, Chipley and Sneads and has opened a Primary Care Clinic in Sneads to better serve Eastern Jackson County and surrounding communities.
